It was a great feeling landing at Auckland airport and not joining the big queue, just walking to the “New Zealand Residents Only” booth and going straight through. It’s a lovely airport, small and clean. We were all tired but happy to finally be there. The hotel sent a bus to pick us up and we arrived and checked in and were in bed by 2.30am. We had a bottle of champagne to drink but it had to wait, we couldn’t keep our eyes open any longer.
