Cycle Behind the Mayor

After the triathlon in the morning there was the “Cycle Behind the Mayor” event to be held. This is a nationwide competition held to see which town can get the most people riding 2km behind their local mayor. This appealed enormously to Tom, being very community spirited, so we all went along to offer support. Our next door neighbour was in charge of arranging the event and it was good to support her. They came for Sunday dinner after and we all had a great time. Very hot, tiring but very enjoyable day.

Great Community Event

All sorts people turned up for the event. There was even a famous basketball team there. They later went on to do a coaching session for the kids and then played a match for all to watch. Tom and Ian went along to this, Matt had had enough by this time and returned to his cave. Me, I went back to the kitchen to prepare a lovely roast dinner. Yum!!

Tom Completed a Triathlon!!

Tom took part in his first Triathlon today. They had to swim 2 lengths of the pool, cycle 2km and finish off with a 1km run. We loved watching him and he enjoyed it tremendously. There are 2 more being held in the near future and he is very keen to take part. He does so much swimming in school and out of school since we have been here he’s coming on in leaps and bounds.

Round of Golf...

We all went for a round of golf today. Great fun. The boys start lessons next week so the rounds should start takless time! The golf course is lovely and the greens are very well kept. There are some older men at the club who pull their clubs round the course on mopeds! Funny sight!!

Oh Well Back to Work!

I start school tomorrow, I think I'm looking forward to it. Just another step towards getting back into a routine and settling into normal life. I have taken a few pictures of the school I will be working in. Very pleasant surroundings I must say. Matt starts school on Thursday as they have a staggered start to the term. Tom is in school tomorrow and one of the teachers I will be working at has told him to come to their house in the morning so he can walk to school with their children. I think he was quite thankful for this, bless him!
